21st Annual Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibition

The Lawrence Arts Commission is accepting submissions for the 21st
Annual Lawrence Outdoor Downtown Sculpture Exhibit until January 28,
2008 (not a postmark date). The Juror for the 2008 exhibition is
artist Bill Buchen, of Brooklyn, NY.

CRITERIA and SPECIFICATIONS FOR SELECTION
Works that expand the idea of what public sculpture can be are
encouraged. All work entered must be free standing, suitable for
long-term outdoor public display. The durability of the work will be a
consideration for selection. Since the show is in a high traffic area,
safety of the public including children must be taken into
consideration. Work must be as vandal proof as possible and cannot
have sharp edges or be breakable. Several sites are available for
ground-mounted works. All accepted entries must be capable of being
properly secured to a site.

HONORARIUM
$750 per selected piece

CALENDAR
Monday, January 28, 2008 4PM
Entries must be received.

Mid-March, 2008: Notice of juror's selections sent to artists.
9 am-3 pm Friday, April 25, 2008: Receipt of sculptures
Saturday June 7, 2008: Exhibition opening tour and reception
Wednesday April 1, 2009: Exhibition closes
